At 1:34 am on January 23, the China Coast Guard received a notification from the Maritime Search and Rescue Center of Sansha City, Hainan Province, that a foreign cargo ship had capsized 55 nautical miles northwest of China’s Huangyan Dao. There were a total of 21 Filipino crew members on board. Following the incident, the China Coast Guard immediately dispatched 2 vessels to the accident area to carry out search and rescue operations. As of now, 13 people have been rescued, and the relevant rescue work is still ongoing.
