China and ROK Hold 2021 Fisheries Enforcement Meeting

From June 8 to 10, 2021, China Coast Guard and the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries of the Republic of Korea (MOF-ROK) co-hosted the 2021 China-Korea Fisheries Enforcement Meeting via video link. Representatives from China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and China Fisheries Association and ROK’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Korea Coast Guard, and Korea Fisheries Association participated in the friendly and practical meeting.

The two sides reviewed the production order in waters tentatively designated by the China-ROK Fisheries Agreement. They agreed that the close cooperation and joint efforts of relevant departments of both countries have continuously improved the fisheries production order in relevant waters. They pledged to continue reinforcing law enforcement to maintain the production order.

The two sides also exchanged views on the communication and cooperation between maritime law enforcement agencies of the two countries and agreed to continue the close communication and friendly consultation to keep maritime production order. They also reached extensive consensus on such topics as joint patrol and information sharing.
